By definition, you read blogs. If you care about accessing customers, reaching an audience, communicating your vision, influencing people in your industry, marketing your services or just plain engaging in a dialog with others in your industry a blog is a great way to achieve this. People often ask me why I started blogging.
Ever notice how some companies tend to be in the press all the time and your big new product launch struggled for inches? So how exactly do you break out then? Mostly it’s because your marketing campaigns suck. I recommend that companies move beyond narcissistic marketing to what I call “point-of-view (POV) marketing.”
We are often asked how companies get funded, why VCs make the decisions we make and what we’re looking for in entrepreneurs. I think this is a Seriously great example of how this process works for at least one VC – Upfront Ventures. But I’m guessing the narrative is similar elsewhere.
