Why Startups Need to Blog (and what to talk about …)

Both Sides of the Table

By definition, you read blogs. If you care about accessing customers, reaching an audience, communicating your vision, influencing people in your industry, marketing your services or just plain engaging in a dialog with others in your industry a blog is a great way to achieve this. People often ask me why I started blogging.

Chartbeat is to Blogs as Google Analytics is to Print Newspapers

Both Sides of the Table

I’ve been using Chartbeat for over a month now to track performance of my blog and I find myself looking at Google Analytics much less these days. Their staff can see in real time what’s performing and when a story starts becoming hot they can find out the root causes of what’s driving the traffic.

Should You Blog? (yes, and here’s how …)

Both Sides of the Table

Both Sides of the Table

In the early days of Twitter most users didn’t follow too many people, which was good and bad. The “half life” was very short. Of course there was good and bad to this also.

Both Sides of the Table

That channel giveth and then taketh away so you had millions of users who had not grown accustomed to the feature set of Viddy and thus didn’t stick around. With slower growth and slight product tweaks over time my guess is that Viddy would have been an amazing success story due to a very talented product team. ” Me?

In Defense of Uber: An Unbiased Opinion

Both Sides of the Table

The story on Uber has been written about ad nauseam, which is why I’ve been reluctant to weigh in. This story has been repeated by many parents I know and by many 20-somethings in LA. Case in point, “ Why Your Uber Driver Hates Uber ” is a blog post dressed up as journalism. Grievances – yes.
