I have never been more optimistic about the impact that the tech startup community is having on cities in America or about the role that cities outside of San Francisco / Silicon Valley can play in our future. Changes in the Software World & in Venture Capital. Changes in the Startup Ecosystem. And then the world changed.
That’s the thing—startups in the initial stages need advice, feedback, and guidence a lot more than they need money upfront. Getting key strategy advice early on, or getting introduced to a new market can make or break a company in ways that no amount of angelcapital can help. This is a good thing.
For a new angel investor, by far the best thing to do is to join a local angel investor group that belongs to the AngelCapital Association. But regardless of the specifics, what they all have in common is bringing together a group of active Accredited Investors interested in supporting young startups.
