I treated the product demo as a live slide. Rather than overwhelming them with blocks of text, I incorporated impactful visuals such as infographics, charts, and images to convey complex information in a visually pleasing way. I also incorporated a live demo section to enable investors to see the tool in action.

During our research, we identified more than 50 companies where the founders proudly declared they have done “more than one hundred demos.” Every single company that rushed to demo eventually closed the business.

As a founder you end up having to deal with a lot of sensitive information & discussions. I refuse to go to demo days. Not just TechStars but any demo day, really. So I promised the guys that I would come and hang out with companies well before their demo days. It’s an obvious temptation. We’ll see.
