So as I get around the country speaking at college campus in 2010 & 2011 I have been preaching the same theme. But what I do see in the market in 2011 is way too many “me too&# solutions where a bunch of founders have brainstormed a way to do a better GroupOn, a better GiltGroupe, a better Twitter or a better Quora.

I myself coined the term ENIFA (everyone now is a f **g angel) in 2011 but it didn’t stick as well as the term Unicorn did. Another founder … “When I pitched the idea to Adam, he was super on board,” Mr. Sloyan said. I simply want founders to be educated on the topic to be helpful. All of my partners at Upfront do.

2011 was the first year I went to SxSW. Well, I get nothing out of seeing how well a bunch of people can pitch their businesses on stage. We hung out a lot together a dinners and educational events.
