In 2023, I believe that stakeholder capitalism will grow exponentially as it offers a true modern-day business model that can be transformational if properly integrated into the organization’s processes. Investors and consumers prefer businesses that prioritize ecological impact and sustainability.

The local tech community is figuring this out, not surprisingly, way before the academic institutions are—and where it is being discovered by academia, it’s being done on a one-off basis by educational revolutionaries in the innovation space who aren’t stopping to ask their schools for permission or to change curricula.

I grew up here, went to school here, and have worked hard over the last 5+ years to help build up the NYC innovation community. The simple fact of the matter is that most startups seeking angel or vc capital just don’t receive it—and that’s just anywhere. You know what—it’s supposed to work like that! I was there, too.
