The program kicked off with a full one-day angel investor education program delivered by Angel Labs.

Mirroring the entrepreneur training, SDAC provides investor training through an enhanced pitch competition run over a three-month series of events that culminate in a one-day conference, where a winner is awarded funds raised by the investors. Lowering the barrier to entry is one way to help attract the nascent angel investor.

Too many entrepreneurs start out their business endeavors with an investment pitch. Getting key strategy advice early on, or getting introduced to a new market can make or break a company in ways that no amount of angel capital can help. Help doesn’t necessarily mean an angel round sized check.

Look for a group that connects angel investors with promising early-stage companies and that provides the education and information for both groups to lead to a healthy pipeline of deal flow.
