I'll bet you don't know where the Center of NY's Tech Community and Center of Creativity is. These are people whose business it is to support startups. It's not quite the same when you're putting government money to work supporting new companies. Plus, you lack for visible champions--which is the complimentary air support.

Cheaper rents could make it a great place for the creative community and there''s no reason why it shouldn''t become as popular a destination for out of town events the same way that Austin has. Anyone can build a coworking space, but it''s a lot harder to attract and curate a set of folks that makes me want to move into that space.
