Salyer made the decision to take her community service commitment to a new level in November 2008 when she successfully ran for the Ward 6 City Council seat. She served as the first woman president of the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City, (2003/2004), one of the largest Rotary Club in the world.

I saw this in 2001-2003 and in 2008-2010. And it’s what I believe sets apart the tech startup culture more than any other sector out there. She said that Korea really wants to build a “creative economy” and that understanding why the US is so innovative was important to her. I look for survivors.

Sometime around 2003/04 my technology team turned me on to “Spolsky on Software&# a periodic newsletter served up blog style from Joel Spolsky of FogCreek Software, a maker of bug-tracking software. While that happens sometimes, it was a challenge for Google because it frequently had trouble adapting from an engineering driven culture.
