But the most interesting is that all of his stories involved entrepreneurship. They say that the best entrepreneurs are those who fundamentally want to solve problems or change industries. I''m super proud of Rob, Ben and the whole Backupify team--and this is particularly special for me because Backupify was the first investment I ever made as a VC, and the first board I ever sat on. I started reading a great blog called Business Pundit in 2004. It was written by a guy about my age down in Louisville, Kentucky.

Admittedly, there were no entrepreneurs in my family. I was in college from 2000 to 2004. They try to become this cookie-cutter entrepreneur that is designed to raise money from investors, with their playbook and by their rules. Regardless, Black entrepreneurs must press forward and still show up.
