There were a lot of requests for us to turn our mentorship program into a physical accelerator with a fund, office space and full-time staff. Throughout all of these years I was a full-time VC so Launchpad really came out of evenings and weekends for me. But by 2014 much had started to change. So what next? But my prediction?

Most experienced VCs won’t push you to give up founder control at this stage of the business nor should they. With small amounts of money invested (sub $3 million) the risks are reasonably low for most VCs and the consequences of bad decisions or decisions a VC has limited say in is tolerable. Mentorship.
