The long-running property bubble had popped in late 2007 and global markets were unraveling, eventually turning into what would become known as the Great Recession. Some friends in Boulder were experimenting with an idea for a “startup accelerator” they called Techstars. In retrospect, it’s hard to imagine what we were thinking.
