Steve Baggott is a member and Board Director of Queen City Angels (QCA) in Cincinnati, Ohio. Steve joined QCA in 2015, where he chairs QCA’s marketing committee and co-leads the group’s “Ascent” membership program. He is also deeply involved with the Angel Capital Association, where he has served on the Marketing & Membership and Education Committees. As part of this, he is a trainer for the Ann & Bill Payne’s ACA Angel University, including the Fundamentals of Angel Investing and Risks courses. He also co-chaired the ACA’s 2019 Midwest Regional Meeting in Cincinnati.

Alongside his wife and fellow AU instructor Sue Baggott, the Baggotts have contributed as generous donors to the Seed the Future Campaign.

His smile, wit, and intellect are all on full display as he undertakes whatever task is presented to him. Steve joined QCA following a career at Procter & Gamble in Marketing/Brand Management, working across established and new businesses in the U.S. and Western Europe. Following that he served as a founding leader of P&G's business development and open innovation capability. It was in this capacity that Steve first got exposed to angel investing. He spoke at the ACA Summit in Austin, Texas in 2012, sharing thoughts on open innovation and the potential for large corporates (like P&G) and start-ups/angel investors to collaborate in bringing exciting new technologies and business models to market. Following early retirement from P&G in late 2015, Steve jumped into working with and investing in promising early-stage companies. 

"Steve Baggott has been a member of Queen City Angels for the past eight years. Since Steve join our group, he has been one of our most active members and one of our “go to people” when new projects pop up. Steve chairs the QCA Marketing Committee and is a QCA Board member. Steve and his wife, Sue, have been instrumental in developing a new membership class at QCA that has helped us more than double our membership over the past 5 years. Additionally, they have led the charge in developing an “angel introduction” series of educational events that allow our new members to quickly learn the process of angel investing.

Beyond angel investing, since 2019 Steve has served as Chief Operating Officer of Sus Clinicals, a life science/biotech start-up whose mission is to help companies developing breakthrough cancer therapeutics accelerate their progress and increase odds of success via a new large animal preclinical testing platform. He also serves as past board chair for The Seven Hills School, and is a trustee for another non-profit, Breakthrough Cincinnati, which promotes educational attainment for middle and high school students in underserved communities.
