I had the pleasure of interviewing Djordje Planincic, the founder and CEO of Plantech Industries, a visionary technologist with a deep passion for robotics, AI & ML, and IoT. His career is a testament to innovative projects that challenge conventional thinking, bringing us closer to a future where science fiction becomes reality.

What motivated you to launch your company?

My motivation to launch Plantech Industries was deeply personal and rooted in a lifelong dream. From a young age, I was captivated by the transformative power of technology and its potential to shape our future. I was fascinated by the idea of a world where advanced technologies like cybernetic augmentations and humanoid androids were not just science fiction, but a reality. This fascination evolved into a passion, driving me to dedicate my career to making this vision a reality. Plantech Industries is the realization of that dream, a platform where we can push the boundaries of technology and bring the future closer to the present. More than that, it’s a company built with a deep commitment to humanity, designed to create technologies that empower people and leave a lasting, positive impact on the world.

What is it that excites you about what you’re building?

What excites me the most is the limitless potential of what we’re building. We’re not just developing software or hardware; we’re creating a movement that will fundamentally change the way businesses operate and how we live our lives. Through our mission, we’re also committed to helping build other ventures that share our vision. As a matter of fact, we’re launching a venture builder in Slovenia next year, where we aim to invest in and actively support promising startups from the Balkan region, providing them with capital, strategic guidance, and operational resources. Our mission is to accelerate their growth, fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem in the Balkans and generating substantial value for both our portfolio companies and our investors.

What has been your biggest challenge when growing your company?

The biggest challenge has been navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of technology. The fields we operate in — AI, IoT, and robotics — are advancing at an incredible pace. Keeping up with these changes, and ensuring our solutions are at the cutting edge, requires constant learning and adaptation. Another significant challenge has been building a team that shares the same vision and passion for innovation. Finding individuals with the right skills is one thing, but ensuring they align with the kind of culture we want to build and long-term goals is another. Balancing the need for growth with maintaining the quality of our services has been a constant challenge.

What are your future plans for your company?

Our future plans for Plantech Industries are centered around continuing to innovate and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with technology. We’re committed to exploring new frontiers in AI, IoT, and robotics and applying these advancements in ways that can transform industries and improve lives.

We also plan to nurture our team’s growth, fostering a culture that encourages innovation, collaboration, and values freedom, growth, and individuality. These principles guide us as we strive to create an environment where every team member feels empowered to contribute their unique ideas and perspectives.

While we have specific goals and projects in mind, we’re keeping the details close to our chest. What we can share is our unwavering commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements and delivering impactful solutions for everyone.

If you had to share “words of wisdom” with a Founder who’s about to start their own startup, what would they be?

Never lose sight of your vision. The road to success is rarely a straight line, and you’ll need to adapt and pivot along the way. Embrace the unexpected turns as they often lead to new opportunities and insights. Encourage dialogue, debate, and the sharing of ideas — it’s through this process that truly innovative solutions are born.

Building a business is not just about the end goal, but also about the lessons learned, the relationships built, and the personal growth experienced along the way.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

Readers can follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. They can also follow me personally on LinkedIn. I spend most of my time there. 😀

This was very insightful. Thank you so much for joining us!
