Stockbit Investa Bersama (Stockbit), an Indonesian digital investment platform, and Fullerton Fund Management Company (Fullerton), a Singapore-based investment specialist, have jointly acquired Ayers Asia Asset Management, a Jakarta-based asset management firm.
Fullerton expressed its commitment to collaborate with Stockbit in developing and providing high-quality investment solutions that cater to a diverse range of investors, including retail clients, intermediaries, and institutions.
The partnership formed through this acquisition aims to leverage the strengths of both companies in manufacturing and distributing investment products that meet the needs of the Indonesian market.
Indonesia‘s substantial population and promising growth prospects generate strong demand for financial products and services. Despite experiencing a 38 percent year-on-year increase in the number of investors in 2022, the asset management market in Indonesia remains relatively untapped compared to that of its neighboring countries.
Currently, the assets under management of Indonesia’s mutual funds amount to less than 4.0 percent of the country’s GDP, significantly lower than the ratios seen in Malaysia (35.8 percent), Thailand (30.3 percent), and India (15.8 percent).
“We are pleased to announce our partnership with Fullerton, a highly regarded fund manager known for their extensive investment expertise and commitment to risk management,” expressed Sigit Kouwagam, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Stockbit. He further emphasized, “We firmly believe that Fullerton’s exceptional track record in delivering high-quality investment solutions will greatly benefit investors in Indonesia.”
Jenny Sofian, Chief Executive Officer of Fullerton Fund Management, expressed enthusiasm about entering the Indonesian market alongside Stockbit, a rapidly growing fintech company known for its strong brand and deep understanding of the diverse requirements of investors in Indonesia. She emphasized that Stockbit’s commitment to making investment solutions widely accessible aligns perfectly with Fullerton’s dedication to designing high-quality offerings to meet the needs of this rapidly expanding and dynamic market.
Stockbit was founded to assist Indonesians in achieving a financially secure future. By adopting a digital-first approach, Stockbit enables investors to construct portfolios that align with their risk profiles and investment objectives straightforwardly and optimally. The platform offers various financial instruments, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
Fullerton is a seasoned investment specialist with two decades of experience. The firm actively invests across diverse asset classes, markets, sectors, and geographical regions. It places a strong emphasis on risk management while it also caters to a broad client base, including sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, family offices, private wealth, and retail channels across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Both Stockbit and Fullerton bring their unique strengths and expertise to this strategic partnership, positioning themselves to cater to the wealth management needs of Indonesian investors and capitalize on the growth potential of the Indonesian market.
