Instead of Dungeons & Dragons, how about Forging the Future?

Dungeons & Dragons, the most famous “tabletop role-playing game” in the world, does an incredible job of letting a group of friends co-author vibrant stories of heroic daring. Other games let you and your friends tell different kinds of stories, from cheery cartoon character shenanigans, to cyberpunk hackers fighting The Machine, to queer teenage superheros coming of age, and zillions of others! Unlike board or computer games, the stories in tabletop role-playing are bound only by the imaginations of the players.

But no one, so far as I can tell, has created such a game where you play as entrepreneurs. And wow… what an opportunity. Entrepreneurship is a place in real life where there is intense drama, huge stakes, and a chance to change the world… all without violence. The format’s you-are-only-limited-by-your-imagination gives the flexxibility for the crazy pivots that are central to a startup’s life.

So, I give you my hobby & passion project of the past two years: Forge The Future, where you and your friends are entrepreneurs in a desperate race to fulfill your world-changing vision before running out of time!

If that sounds like your idea of fun, I’d be delighted to have you check out the Forge The Future website and consider joining the dozens of people who are helping test and improve the game. To be clear, this is all free :).
