The Angel Capital Association is delighted to announce that Sonu Mirchandani, Faculty and Entrepreneur Program Director for the College of Business and Technology at East Tennessee State University, has been appointed Dean of Faculty for the Ann and Bill Payne ACA Angel University. Named after our lead donors and unparalleled education supporters, the Ann and Bill Payne ACA Angel University is growing rapidly and seeks to support investors and entrepreneurs. ACA Angel University strives to be the gold standard for angel education through inclusive programming that will not only grow the pool of successful angels but offer solid opportunities for equity in access to early capital. The Dean of Faculty role will provide oversight of instructor recruitment, developing and revising course content and designing course assessments to demonstrate achievement of learning outcomes.

“Sonu will be perfect for this role and we are thrilled to have him support the education efforts here at the ACA. It’s volunteers like him who make the member benefits so valuable,” said Bill Payne, angel investing education pioneer and lead donor.

Sonu Mirchandani has a wide range of professional experience in angel investing, advising and supporting early-stage startups as well as developing curricula in the topics of Startup Finance, Entrepreneurship, New Business Models, Marketing, Advertising and Promotion and Ethics. He has earned an MS in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University and a BS in Engineering from San Francisco State University. He holds two patents related to cellular signaling technology.

“I am looking forward to working with and supporting the ACA not just to give back, but to also bootstrap the scores of Angel investors with skills, tools and "verticals" knowledge to enhance their investment decision making in the stage of startup investing where the risk is the highest,” said Mirchandani.

The ACA also offers workshops and webinars created for early-stage investors and designed to fit the needs and length preferences of members, non-members and member organizations in your own communities. Registration is currently open for the Spring Semester of the Ann & Bill Payne ACA Angel University
