Seraf Co-Founder Appointed to SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee

Seraf SEC AdvisoryWe are proud to share that Seraf Co-founder Christopher Mirabile was recently appointed to The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Investor Advisory Committee. Christopher serves as the Chair Emeritus of the Angel Capital Association and Senior Managing Director of Launchpad Venture Group, and wholeheartedly understands the complexities around investing in early stage companies. As an investor, angel group leader, venture fund manager, board director, and mentor, Christopher regularly works with investors and entrepreneurs, and will draw on his decades of experience to best represent the voice and interests of early stage investors.

Commenting on his new role with the SEC Investor Advisory Committee, Christopher said, “I am thrilled to serve as the voice of early stage investors and the role they play in stimulating economic growth. Startups are the engines of job growth, and early stage investors are the fuel for those engines.”

The SEC Investor Advisory Committee was created from Section 911 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act to advise the Commission on regulatory priorities, the regulation of securities products, trading strategies, fee structures, the effectiveness of disclosure, and on initiatives to protect investor interests and to promote investor confidence and the integrity of the securities marketplace. The Dodd-Frank Act authorizes the committee to submit findings and recommendations for review and consideration.

Early stage investors have unique needs compared to Wall Street investors. They are a vital component in funding job creation and national competitiveness. Just as Christopher has helped design Seraf to meet the unique portfolio management and reporting needs of early stage investors, he will effectively advise the SEC to ensure the voice and perspective of early stage investors is represented on this influential committee.

Christopher’s service on this committee is consistent with Seraf’s belief that investors in early stage companies should have all the help they can get: from rules and regulations promoting the safe and efficient formation of capital to access to best practices and professional tools. Seraf combines these advantages with powerful portfolio analysis tools and the most comprehensive set of educational materials for early stage investors that together enable early stage investors to achieve superior results.

Please help us in congratulating Christopher as he works to keep the interest of early stage investors and the greater entrepreneurial community at top of mind within the SEC.
