Global Entrepreneurship Congress Aims to Fuel Healthier Ecosystems

By: Linda Smith, ACA Chair Emeritus

ACA members are invited to join the Global Business Angels Network (GBAN) Annual Meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 14-17, 2021 which will take place as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress – anticipated to be one of the first post-COVID-19 live global gatherings of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and other startup champions from around the world.  The focus of the GBAN Annual Meeting this year will be on cross border investing but there will be a wide range of sessions for investors throughout the three-day event.

All participants will work together to reexamine the new global landscape with an underlying theme of an exponentially accelerated rate of cross border investment and syndication.  The content presented is for both investors and those that support them, covering trends such as the new growth of family business offices in early-stage investing, the rise of women’s angel funds, the new interest of governments keen to build capacity and incentivize early-stage investors and much more.

This year attendees of the Global Business Angels Network (GBAN) Annual Meeting will have the added opportunity to participate in the global finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup which attracts nearly 200,000 entrants from 200 countries each year.  At the finals in Riyadh, the top 100 companies selected from hundreds of thousands will compete for $1 million in cash prizes and much more in other support.  The EWC can be a great scouting opportunity for angel investors.

For more than a decade, the Global Entrepreneurship Congress has fostered cross-border collaboration between entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and entrepreneurial support organizations – fueling healthier ecosystems that make it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business, creating jobs and driving economic growth in the process. Participants make invaluable connections and extend their footprint in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems around the world.  Beyond the GBAN Annual Meeting, the Global Entrepreneurship Congress offers an opportunity for investors and investor networks to learn about these programs operating in their countries and on the global stage. It will unify a broad collection of voices.
